Claire Carmouche is a certified style icon with incredible aesthetic range, effortlessly rocking frilly tulle with feminine corsets one day, and grungey band tees with plaid mini skirts the next. This 19-year-old stays true to her Gemini star sign by expressing a love for adventure in all her looks and endless clothing creativity. Living in Los Angeles, Claire has prime access to thrift stores and the hidden treasures they hold, which makes them her absolute favorite place to shop. At the thrift, she immediately scopes out the lingerie section, then moves onto skirts, sweaters, and pants. She makes sure to pay careful attention to the patterns and fabric of pieces, as she claims this is where all the styling potential lies. And when she’s not second-hand shopping in real life, Claire is scrolling through Depop for her favorite brands like Roberto Cavalli and Jean Paul Gaultier, as well as supporting up-and-coming labels like Fanci Club and Secretsister.
Claire Carmouche was kind enough to give Sheesh Magazine an inside look at five of her favorite outfits and must-have wardrobe staples.
1. Scarf to Shirt
CLAIRE CARMOUCHE: I was attempting to tie my scarves as tops and I came across this handy dandy little method. I actually tied my scarf like this and immediately took a video because I didn’t think I could figure out how to do it again, but luckily I’ve mastered the method. I posted a tutorial on my TikTok as well.
2. Miss Fit
CLAIRE CARMOUCHE: This top is one of my favorite thrift finds of all time! It’s vintage Misfits and super rare, the material is so sick and I’ve wanted a top in that material for so long but most of them listed on Depop are insanely expensive. Then I came across this gem, it was actually fate.
3. Spider Web Skirt
CLAIRE CARMOUCHE: This is probably one of my favorite outfits ever. My skirt is from Gap but I got spider web material from Amazon and safety pinned it to the skirt, it came with tons of material so expect more looks with this. The sleeves are actually a scarf I thrifted and cut a hole to fit over my shoulders, it’s another one of my favorite thrift finds. I hope one day I can recreate this look with my desired velvet Vivienne Westwood corset.
4. Casual Target Run
CLAIRE CARMOUCHE: This is a little Harajuku inspired with the hairstyle and long denim skirt. This was my first outing in like a week and I only went to Target but I’m glad I got to showcase my look for Instagram.
5. Glove Glamour
CLAIRE CARMOUCHE: This is one of my only outfits from months ago that I would still wear today. I normally grow out of outfits literally the next day but I still have love for this one. I made this top out of some gloves from eBay, it was inspired by TLabel! I’m obsessed with it, orange is one of my favorite colors.

DRESS:
CLAIRE CARMOUCHE: This INSANE dress I got personally made for me by Liky Florence. I chose the yarn colors, gave her my measurements, and she made it insanely fast! It is AMAZING, I want one in every color.
TOPS:
CLAIRE CARMOUCHE: This is my actual dream top, and one of my first big girl purchases that I actually spent a pretty penny on. I still haven’t worn it because I have yet to find the perfect bottoms for my perfect top.
CLAIRE CARMOUCHE: This top I accidentally purchased somehow on Depop trying to purchase another item at the exact same cost. At the time I was livid because I’d just spent my whole paycheck the day after I got paid, but now I couldn’t be happier with it.
BOTTOMS:
CLAIRE CARMOUCHE: My absolute favorite pants by Roberto Cavalli (Just Cavalli). I thought they would be super big on me because I initially thought it was vintage sizing and the conversion said it would be around a size 8 but I’m a size 0/2 so I just figured I’d work with it. But, when they arrived they fit perfectly. It was insane! I’ve honestly never had pants fit so perfect.
JACKET:
CLAIRE CARMOUCHE: This jacket, OH MY GOD THIS JACKET! I have yet to wear it because it never gets cold enough in LA but best believe when Covid is over I’m traveling to New York with only this coat on my back. It’s from the Goodwill bins!
SHOES:
CLAIRE CARMOUCHE: I just got these shoes, that’s why they still look so clean! I love them, unfortunately they don’t fit me at all because I have the smallest feet ever, Demonia doesn’t even carry my size. Nevertheless, I will still struggle to walk in style.
BAG:
CLAIRE CARMOUCHE: I have a huge collection of bags but I pretty much wear the same bag everyday because I’m too lazy to switch all my stuff out! This is one of my favorite bags that I thrifted that someone painted on, it has insane detail on such a small canvas.
