Monday:
Madison Wild: These pants are Ralph Lauren Purple Label which are supposed to be very luxurious and basically the most expensive items they make, and I found them at a thrift store for 15 dollars! They’re really like my prized possessions, they make anything look a little bit classier. I was wearing them with this thrifted black mock neck and my Dale Earnhardt Budweiser racing jacket. I found this jacket on Ebay after looking forever for one and now Ebay is basically my safe haven for vintage pieces. Then I just threw on these secondhand Prada loafers that I really love to style.
Where do you get your style inspiration? Are there any celebrities or influencers you like to follow for their clothing choices?
Madison Wild: A lot of my style used to come from celebrity influence, and it still does a little bit for example, Bella Hadid. Everyone follows her style and it really is just so amazing, but recently my style has been coming a lot more from looking at vintage runway shows. I used to have a hard time getting into them because they aren’t easily adaptable at face value into everyday life. Now I feel like I have learned how to just take inspiration and adapt them into daily life. For example anything that John Galliano did in the 90s and anything that Roberto Cavalli did in the early 2000s I am super inspired by. I will often just find those on Pinterest and then end up watching the whole show on YouTube or something.
Tuesday:
Madison Wild: Another Ebay look! The long embroidered duster is from Ebay and I was told not to buy it but as soon as I remembered I had these pants I bought it immediately because I knew they would look so cool together. It’s from the 60s which is one of my favorite vintage eras, so I think that’s really cool. The pants are from Lulus, they’re just a satin mint flare pant and I love them for the spring. My shoes are Jeffrey Cambell and my bra is from Depop, which is actually a really great place to find lingerie type pieces.
Wednesday:
Madison Wild: Free People is one of my absolute favorite places to shop at if I am buying fast fashion—which I tend not to do. If I do, then I try to always make sure it is something that I will have for a long time and will stick around with me so I am not consistently buying fast fashion. The top and bottom are both from Free People, I just fell in love with the colors and the plaid pattern. The jacket is my mom’s from Zara. Her closet is my favorite place to shop hands down! I bought this bag from a Japanese vintage seller right before the pandemic hit. I bought it because I was traveling a lot and have wanted it in my wardrobe forever; little did I know traveling would stop after that. It is a Louis Vuitton “Keep All” bag and I think it’s so fashionable and fun to style. I have really been influenced by Camille Rowe’s style lately. I saw her do a video with Vogue and fell in love with her style, so this outfit really reminds me of the way she dresses.
What do you want your style to say about you?
Madison Wild: It totally changes throughout the days—my hairdresser even says I look like a whole new person every time I come in because my style is ever changing. It really does depend on the mood I’m in. I usually want to look inviting, I kind of always want to dress so people think I am warm and welcoming, or even just interesting enough so they will want to come talk to me. Other times I want to look like I smoke cigarettes in nightclubs, and stay out all night. It really just depends on what I want to portray that day.
Thursday:
Madison Wild: This dress is one of my favorite thrift finds ever! It’s a Victoria’s Secret silk nightgown that seems very 90s to me. I wear it really all the time and it’s one of my favorite pieces. I thrifted the jacket as well, and it totally fulfills my Penny Lane dreams—I was so excited to find it. The bag is a Ralph Lauren bag I bought when I was 12 so it’s really special to me because I love looking back and seeing old photos of me carrying it when I was little, and I still love it so much now. Lastly, I put on some Nine West cowboy boots to make it a little bit more casual and I think they paired really nicely with the dress.
Friday:
Madison Wild: Once again an Ebay find, I won this for 8 dollars! I was shocked no one beat me out, and it was the best day ever when I won. My favorite way to wear sheer dresses is to just throw some black lingerie on underneath, assuming that’s appropriate for the occasion. If not I will throw on a mini slip and call it a day, but this is definitely my favorite way to style it. These boots are so incredibly special to me, I actually got them through an alumni at my school in New York. They are vintage Dior boots from the 90s and I know I’ll have them forever. They were one of my first luxury fashion purchases and they mean so much to me.
What outfit or style makes you feel the most comfortable and confident?
Madison Wild: I feel like revealing and risque clothing makes me feel incredibly confident most of the time, which can seem a little backwards, but I love embracing the femininity and sexuality of it all. Other times I feel really confident with myself in a nice pantsuit that makes me feel really powerful. I actually just got into pantsuits and I completely understand the hype now! They make me feel so cool and in charge, and ready to take on the day.
