Lexie Liu is a 21 year old singer, songwriter, and rapper based in China. She released her first EP, 2030, last year to much critical and commercial success. Liu announced 2030 with the release of “Hat Trick”, the third track off the album. Inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, “Hat Trick” incorporates quotes from the novel and is sung in both Mandarin and English. The accompanying music video blends monochromatic and futuristic visuals with the softness of Liu’s voice and enchanting bilingual lyrics. Enter into the second week of September with this pop fusion lullaby.

Zella Day – “Only A Dream”

American singer and songwriter  Zella Day released her new EP Where Does The Devil Hide on August 28th. The fourth song off the EP, “Only A Dream”, illustrates the enchantment found in the altering beauty of a final love and changing seasons. Released alongside a retro inspired, cinematic music video, ‘Only A Dream’ portrays the beginning and ending of a love story filled with soothing memories to abate the natural cycle of life and death found among all of Earth’s possessions.

Tom Petty – “Wildflowers (Home Recording)”

In 2017, Tom Petty tragically died from an accidental drug overdose. Before his death Petty teased the release of a comprehensive box set of unreleased tracks, home recordings, and a Wildflowers re-release. Three years after his death, the Tom Petty Estate has made this vision come to fruition. On October 16th, Warner Bros. will release an extensive collection and reissue of Wildflowers & All The Rest. So far, a home recording of Petty’s classic song “Wildflowers” was released on August 20th with never before seen footage of Petty in his home. Conclude the melancholic brightness of the first day of the week with Petty’s classic “Wildflowers.”
