Steal Her Style with Content Creator, Amy Joseph

It’s easy to get caught up in the kitschy slogan, “dress to impress!” in a world where everybody’s watching. But for 23-year-old content creator and stylist Amy Joseph, known on Instagram and TikTok as “Amy Diala,” she believes that whatever you like to wear, you should wear it and rock it. Amy’s outfits are not only a way to express herself, but also are a career choice, as she just graduated from the University of Arizona in May. Studying marketing and fashion, she is well-equipped to educate the social media world on what’s cute, what’s comfy, and what she feels works best for her body.

Beyond the classroom, Amy Joseph gained valuable advice from none other than her mother, who worked at Neiman Marcus and Marshall Fields in Chicago. In fact, some of Amy’s most funky finds are vintage pieces straight from her stylin’ mother’s closet.

But when Amy feels like shopping till she drops, she turns to tried-and-true online stores, Nasty Gal and Zara, to fill her closet and supplement her themed outfit TikToks and Insta posts.

She also pays homage to the smaller brands and boutiques that keep her fits unique, like Rebel Flow and Unruly Boutique, “which is really important during a pandemic,” admits Amy. Whether it’s a cute crop top or a pair of worn-in jeans, Amy brings these designs to the streets. “I’m out running errands, and people are like ‘I really like your shirt’ and I’m like ‘oh, it’s from this small brand!’” she effuses.

In accordance with her vast amounts of clothing store choices, Amy does not confine herself to any certain style and deems herself as an “open book” when it comes to choosing an outfit. “Whatever resonates with me is what I’ll wear,” Amy states. And this ideology has gotten her far in her career in fashion. Without a job lined up post grad, she never expected to become a content creator full time, but she has to admit that she adores crafting contemporary fits for a living. “I am grateful everything went the way it did,” Amy continues.

So, what’s it like to jump in front of the camera in platform black boots and a trusty leather blazer? Perhaps you want to learn how to look like an ultra chic dresser that still values comfort and individuality. Well, in an interview with SHEESH!, Amy Joseph shows her go-to getups, her “I-can’t-live-withouts,” and life as a full-time fashionista. Check it out below!

Crop top: Angel Sent, Pants: Asos, Shoes: Asos, Blazer: Zara

If Amy Joseph had a trademark look, well—this would be it! Wearing one of her signature pieces, a black pleather blazer from Zara, any look is elevated to sophistication (and it keeps you warm, too!). Amy also is making sure to support small brands in her “angel” crop top from Angel Sent Boutique, all while looking angelic herself!

Fit #2: The Cozy Chic

Top: Rebel Flow, Pants: Nasty Gal, Shoes: Prada, Bag: Rebel Flow

One of Amy’s biggest rules of fashion is comfortability, and this fit has it all from the matching sweater set to the fuzzy baguette bag. While she’s rocking some Nasty Gal brown jeans in this flick, “I will never be wearing jeans in my house unless I’m filming something,” Amy admits. We can definitely relate to that one!

And of course, staying safe is key to looking fabulous and fashionable, so Amy sports a custom mask from her cousin’s company, “Cover Your Fckng Mouth!”  We’ll take ten, please.

Fit #3: The “On-the-move!”

Jacket: Ash Vintage, Jeans: Nasty Gal, Shoes: Stock X, Bag: Kiss the Rainbow Boutique

Whether it’s a quick pickup at the grocery store or a shopping spree, Amy knows that any outfit can look ultra cool with a trendy sweatshirt. And what’s better is that Amy’s crewneck is secondhand from Ash Vintage based out of Chicago. She pairs a cow print faux fur bag alongside the blue-and-red ensemble for a bold and eye-catching look that’ll have all the grocery shoppers’ heads turning. As Doja Cat says, “got steak?” because this outfit is A.1!

For the budding content creator, Amy sometimes takes photos in the moment, and other times, she matches what she is wearing to a unique location. She takes inspiration from any and all places, like a coffee shop, for instance. “I always have my eyes peeled for new spots,” tells Amy.

Fit #4: The Call of the Wild

Jumpsuit: Nasty Gal, Boots: Nasty Gal, Bag: Prada

Ever so often, Amy likes to make a bold and fierce statement with her outfits, like this cheetah jumpsuit from Nasty Gal. Paired with her “to-die-for” platform boots, also from Nasty Gal, she’s ready to hit the ground running. “They are my obsession; I can’t live without them. I’m considering buying another pair just in case they stop selling them,” she admits. For a pop of color, Amy totes her cherry red Prada Nylon bag, which is immediately eye-catching against the cheetah background of her fit.

When Amy is looking for style inspo, she turns to acclaimed supermodel, Bella Hadid, who’s sleek and sophisticated fits gain attention from fashion fans worldwide. And “everyone I follow on Instagram I love. There are so many great content creators out there now,” Amy effuses. As a content creator herself, she’s thrilled to share her favorite fits so everyone out there can be inspired!

Fit #5: The “Insta-Casual”

Set: Unruly Boutique, Shoes: Stock X, Bag: Rebel Flow

What shouts “on trend!” more than a fun matching set? Amy picked hers out from a small brand, Unruly Boutique, in this fresh and springy light blue color. To add a sporty kick, literally, she pairs the fit with her white Air Jordan’s from Stock X, where you can buy all kinds of authentic resale shoes. And of course, she doesn’t leave the house without her trusty cheetah tote.

While Amy dreams up her fits each day, which you can see in her TikToks (“outfits to wear to a rooftop bar” is her favorite!), she still likes to follow trends. One style train she is riding is make-your-own clay rings, and she explains that they are surprisingly simple to make. “It’s definitely therapeutic,” she laughs. Maybe we all need to order some clay and get crafting, too!

So, where can we see more of Amy’s originality and clever creativity? Besides her viral TikToks and curated Instagram page, Amy Joseph hopes to start a Youtube channel this year to get more into detail about her fashion journey. As for all those adorable pieces she’s sporting, Amy has a Depop that she plans on restocking very soon! Get ready to shop till you drop (virtually, that is)!
