If you are one of the 300,000 people subscribed to Caroline Ricke, you know her Youtube videos are filled with outlandish claims about fame and fortune, random scenes of fast paced running, and countless high pitched utterances of “okay so?”. The sheer ridiculousness of her content certainly has viewers entertained, but some are left wondering who she really is beyond the outrageous persona.

According to Caroline Ricke, she is rather normal: a college student who was bored with her major and turned social media into a much need creative outlet. “I didn’t have a hobby but I always knew I wanted to entertain people. I would crack jokes with my friends and they thought it was funny, but I didn’t really know where to go with that since I didn’t think anyone would watch my Youtube videos. I thought I was boring, and I still think I’m boring, I guess that’s why I have a persona.” Caroline’s Youtube career began with her writing video scripts while she was in class, hurrying back to her dorm between lectures to film, and religiously uploading videos every week. Six months in, Caroline’s channel started gaining traction and her viral Harvard series significantly bolstered her subscriber count.

Despite not going to Harvard and not studying biomedical engineering, in 2019 Caroline Ricke uploaded “A Day in the Life of a Harvard Biomedical Engineering Student.” In this video, she pretends to be a snooty trust fund kid with a massive superiority complex and an endless stream of disparaging remarks. Hilariously, the video’s comment section is filled with people confessing how long it took for them to realize it was a joke. Even then, some don’t come to this conclusion and remain convinced that the content is sincere. “I’ve gotten used to the fact that some people just won’t get that it’s a joke, and I think it’s funny that like half my audience doesn’t seem to know.”

Caroline’s current roommates (and fellow members of The House Nobody Asked For) were among the many unable to differentiate her acting from authenticity. “They were all scared to meet me because they only knew me from my internet persona. They were like ‘oh my gosh I thought you were going to bully me,’” Caroline recalled while laughing. Thankfully for them, real life Caroline only retains the likable, quirky qualities of her infamous character and none of the egotistical or offensive ones. It was obvious while chatting with her that she is genuine, kind, and not inclined to belittle anyone outside the sphere of comedy.

In addition to being funny, Caroline Ricke is also widely known for being fiercely fashionable. She would describe her style as a mix of early 2000s Disney Star and spunky suburban mom. “I’ll wear pretty much anything. I shop at thrift stores so all my clothes are the most random stuff.” Naturally, the best accessory for random clothes is random objects– a trend Caroline pioneered by wearing dominos, dice, and other unorthodox items as jewelry.

As a certified style icon, it makes sense that fashion is a frequent subject of Caroline’s chaotic content. In a recent TikTok captioned “how 2 b hot”, Caroline advises her 1.9 million followers to “always remember to accessorize but never be an accessory, especially to murder.” This bout of wisdom is followed by her falling off the balcony and the video abruptly ending. With over 47 million total likes, it’s clear the character Caroline Ricke crafted for Youtube is finding a place in the comedy niche of more than one video sharing app.

Caroline’s growing multi-platform popularity has altered her life more dramatically than she initially anticipated. Most recently, she put a pause on college to pursue social media full-time, moved out of her native Ohio to live and work with other creators, and has built up a fan base loyal enough to help her rebound post-hacked insta. “It’s weird how life can change. I never would have expected to be in the situation I am in now and I wake up everyday so grateful for these opportunities.”

Certainly, these opportunities are just the beginning of what’s in store for Caroline Ricke and we look forward to seeing what’s next.

Now, for the moment you’ve all been waiting for…  SHEESH! presents a Q&A with the Caroline Ricke we all know and love.

Q: How do you feel about only being ranked #9141 on famous birthdays? Have you contacted anyone about this obvious error?

Wait 9000? That’s such a small number. I’ve never even heard of a number that small, my bank account is like ten times that. I’ll probably have my management get on that soon because that is kind of embarrassing.

Q: Who is your favorite and least favorite member of The House Nobody Asked For?

Myself is definitely my favorite, one-hundred percent. My least favorite is probably Dawn because I’m convinced she is jealous of me. Also, the guys are just kind of annoying, they are always hitting on me.

Q: Who is your biggest inspiration?

I don’t really have one. The view is very beautiful from the top but there’s really nothing else to reach for.

Q: How would you rate the following iconic celebrity outfits?

degrassi drake

Who even is that? Eh, personality is probably like 2/10. Fit, honestly that’s kinda fire, I like the stitching on his jeans. I rate him a solid 7/10.

jojo siwa

This is who I aspire to be, absolutely 10/10. I would give her higher if I could. Tinfoil, that’s the new look, honestly.

ronald weasly

Is that from Wizards of Waverly Place? I love that show! Sweater vest is so in, so chic. I love the robe so I would have to give him also a 10/10. His smirk is a little bit off putting though, like why is he so sad?
