She initially began to pursue an education in fashion, however, it only took Alexa one day of attending school to realize it wasn’t the right choice for her. Regardless of this decision, it hasn’t stopped Alexa from creating her fashion and sunglasses line that she reinvigorated in 2019. Throughout high school, she loved repurposing designer sunglasses as a pastime, and as a senior launched her official line ‘Mainframe.’ Her shades even made a cameo on Saturday Night Live where J-Lo was seen stunting a pair on stage.
Alexa’s love for fashion runs deep and her style is a huge inspiration for fans. Her Hispanic heritage and the Los Angeles scene has certainly shaped her style, which is evident in her iconic use of gold jewelry, bold eyeliner, and perfectly laid edges. Inspired by her mother, Alexa effortlessly pulls off a classic 90’s Los Angeles streetwear style.
Keeping fashion close to her, but deciding she wanted to explore other interests, Alexa shifted her love for music into creating and writing her own songs. She released her single, “Girl like Me” and collaborated with the band Pearl to make “Turnin’ Tricks” in 2016.
Although her fierce cat eyes were at first set on fashion and music, it wasn’t until she starred in a few short films that she found another passion. Effortlessly, Alexa Demie has quickly become a rising film star, conquering roles in the most sought after independent film studio, A24. She first appeared on the big screen as Estee in Mid90s directed by Jonah Hill and then in Waves directed by Trey Edward Shults. In the midst of those films, she gained immense recognition for her role as Maddy Perez in Euphoria, which aired the summer of 2019.
Alexa’s next big steps are to produce her first feature film based on the life story of her mother, Rosa Mendez. Alexa will play the role of Ms. Mendez as a teenager growing up in the 1980’s Hollywood club scene. Alexa has become a self-made individual who pursues her passions with insatiable vigor. Since Alexa accredits the confidence to pursue her passions to her mother, it’s only right that she uses those passions to pay homage to her mom’s life story.
